Konferansın Amacı

Within the scope of the preparatory conferences prior to Istanbul 5th World Water Forum during 16-22 March 2009, local meetings will be organized by the Regional Directorates of the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI).

Outcomes of the conferences held by the contribution of The Regional Directorates of the State Hydraulic Works (DSI) and the universities, professional institutions and non-governmental organizations will be carried to the Istanbul 5th World Water Forum.

Since 1962 by the aid of the geophysical, geological, geochemical, geomorphological, remote sensing, drilling and testing studies led by The General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA), it has been determined that Turkey is among the very rich countries concerning geothermal resources. Importance of geothermal water resources increases day by day in terms of Turkey and its neighbouring countries. Hence our 18th Regional Directorate of DSI will be holding a conference on “Thermal and Mineral Water” in Afyonkarahisar during April 24-25, 2008.

The contribution of the experts is awaited to the conference where the various subjects will be discussed and their outcomes will be moved to the Istanbul 2009, 5th World Water Forum.
